• We are open from
• 7:00am to 6:00pm Monday to Friday
• We support infant and preschool aged children
• We are a program inspired by the Reggio Emilia Approach and practice Circle of Security® as a relationship based early intervention
• We are fortunate to have large outdoor green space with a forest that we use daily

Position Summary and Scope of Service

The ECE II/III is responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating a play based, child centred emergent curriculum for infants to preschool age children.

A primary responsibility of the ECE II/III is to plan and implement interactions, environments and experiences based on inclusion and diversity of the individual needs, interests and abilities for each child.

The ECE II/III is responsible for the overall care and well-being of the children according to the Manitoba Child Day Care Standards Act and the mission and values of St.Amant and River Road Child Care.

The position involves both direct interactions with the children and the provision of guidance for Child Care Assistants as they support the children in our programs.

The ECE II/III is also responsible for programming, team collaboration, resource management, safety and quality improvement, planning and development

Qualifications

Educational

Community College diploma (2 year) or Undergraduate Degree which meets the requirements for classification as an Early Childhood Educator II/III with the Manitoba Child Day Care Office

Valid Emergency First Aid Certificate and CPR certificate as prescribed by the Manitoba Child Day Care Standards Act -Holds a valid Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse Check

Personal

• Physical ability to use low chairs and to lift, transfer, feed and toilet children
• Physically able to wash and disinfect toys and move small furniture and child care equipment
