Position Overview

As an Early Childhood Teacher Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our lead teachers in creating a positive and enriching learning experience for children. You will work collaboratively with the teaching team to facilitate the educational and developmental growth of our students.

Responsibilities

Assist Lead Teacher

Collaborate with the lead teacher to plan and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.

Supervision

Maintain a safe and clean classroom environment while ensuring the well-being and safety of all children at all times.

Engage and Interact

Actively engage with children through play, storytelling, and creative activities, fostering a love for learning.

Support Individual Needs

Provide additional support to children with special needs, as required, to ensure they fully participate and benefit from the curriculum.

Observation and Reporting

Observe and document children's progress and behavior, sharing insights with the lead teacher and parents.

Communication

Maintain open and effective communication with parents, addressing questions, concerns, and sharing updates on their child's development.

Classroom Organization

Assist in maintaining a well-organized classroom with age-appropriate learning materials and resources.

Assist with Daily Activities

Assist with mealtime, naptime, and toilet training routines, ensuring children's comfort and well-being.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Early Childhood or CDA
  • Previous experience working with toddlers and preschool-aged children
  • Knowledge of child development principles and best practices in early childhood education
  • Familiarity with behavior management techniques and strategies
  • Ability to create and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team

Note: Experience working in a daycare or preschool setting is preferred.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour

8 hour shift
