JOB SUMMARY

The lifeguard is responsible for promoting and maintaining the safety of patrons in the Natatorium.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

The employee in this position will have the following essential job functions

Obtain and maintain the necessary skills and certifications to execute job responsibilities and requirements (Lifeguarding Certification and Jefferson County Board of Health Permit)

Abide by and uphold the Health and Recreation Center policies and procedures

Maintain physical health and mental awareness to perform Lifeguard tasks

Participate in In-service training sessions

Work Lifeguarding shifts as scheduled

Supervise the activities in the natatorium area to promote and ensure safety

Maintain proper pool chemical levels and test water chemistry each shift

Participate in the cleaning and maintenance of the natatorium area

Report maintenance and supply needs to the Aquatics Coordinator or Head-guard

Performs other duties as may be assigned by their supervisor.

REQUIREMENTS

• The person in this position should have a Lifeguard certification. Paid Lifeguard Training is offered after hiring.
• The person in this position is expected to swim sufficiently to perform the Lifeguard rescues.
