Job Title: Senior Cloud Platform Engineer Location: Remote – USA Position Summary: Lead Enterprise Cloud Architecture at Scale We are seeking a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer with deep Microsoft Azure expertise to lead the design, governance, and evolution of our enterprise cloud platform. This is a highly influential role responsible for cloud architecture, platform reliability, FinOps, disaster recovery, AI-driven operations, and engineering standards that support mission-critical logistics systems. What You'll Do Architect and govern enterprise-scale Azure platforms with multi-region resilience and zero single points of failure Lead Azure Landing Zone strategy, governance, security, and platform standards Drive Well-Architected Framework reviews and cloud engineering best practices Establish and lead FinOps initiatives to optimize cloud spend and accountability Own disaster recovery, business continuity, and platform resilience strategies Design Terraform frameworks, reusable Infrastructure as Code, and CI/CD pipelines Lead platform observability, reliability engineering, and performance optimization Drive AI-powered cloud operations, automation, and intelligent platform management Mentor engineers, lead architecture reviews, and shape cloud platform strategy What You'll Bring Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience). 10+ years of cloud infrastructure experience 7+ years of Azure platform engineering expertise Proven experience delivering enterprise Azure Landing Zones and cloud transformations Deep knowledge of Terraform, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, networking, security, and cloud governance Experience leading platform reliability, disaster recovery, and operational excellence initiatives Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence technical direction across teams Leadership & People Skills Strong communicator who can present complex technical concepts to both technical and business audiences Proactive, strategic thinker with a results-driven mindset Thrives in fast-paced, collaborative environments Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills Passion for mentoring others and raising engineering standards Continuous learner with a drive to stay ahead of emerging cloud and AI technologies Nice to have skills AWS or Google Cloud Platform experience Multi-cloud Infrastructure as Code and identity federation FinOps, cloud cost optimization, and observability platforms such as Dynatrace or Datadog Certifications AZ-104, AZ-305, AZ-400, AZ-700 Terraform Associate or Professional FinOps Practitioner / FinOps Certified Engineer AWS or GCP certifications Why join Sonata Software?
