Job Title Emerging Talent Advisor Salary Range SR4 Depot / Department HR Section / Team Capability Reports to (job title) Emerging Talent Manager Direct reports (job title(s)) N/A Overall Purpose of job The purpose of this role is to identify, develop and deliver early careers focused programmes of learning across SGN UK locations. This role plays an integral part in the development of SGN’s future talent community. This post will suit someone who is self-motivated and enjoys working with others in a positive and team-oriented setting. Key responsibilities will include; ×Support and coordinate the implementation of the early careers/talent strategy across SGN UK locations, providing both practical and strategic advice, guidance and support to internal stakeholders to ensure talent programmes are effectively delivered ×Continually review the talent development cycle, experience and processes – be responsible for the effective implementation of quality, strategic and programme delivery improvement plans ×Be responsible for learning and skills delivery of early careers / talent activities across all SGN locations, using our internal Learning Management System (Cornerstone), internal and external training partners ×Positively manage relationships with our internal and external training suppliers, colleges, universities, professional bodies and internal SME’s/stakeholders ×Manage individual and programme learning skills progression throughout the programme duration, offering advice and pastoral support to our early careers/talent community ×Ensure the compliance with all health safety and safeguarding policies for early careers/talent communities ×Liaise with subject matter experts in SGN to coordinate the quality and delivery of programmes ×Work with the wider HR Directorate supporting early talent recruitment campaigns including school events, careers fairs and assessment days ×Manage the design, coordination and delivery of early careers/talent induction programmes Expertise ×Previous experience of apprenticeship and/or graduate programme management within a highly compliant industry ×Able to effectively communicate and liaise with stakeholders at varying levels, work to tight deadlines, prioritise varying workloads and project manage a number of projects simultaneously ×Able to identify issues proactively and ensure the situation is resolved as a priority ×Experience of funded learning programmes – i.e. ESFA/SDS funding regulations and apprenticeship frameworks/standards ×Proficient with all Microsoft office packages Complexity Initially the job holder will be working under the supervision of a fully skilled Emerging Talent Manager. They are likely to be working on talent development initiatives for a large number of SGN directorates/work streams, including upskilling projects. The post holder will also coordinate projects through our academic partners including colleges universities, some being fairly complex training needs identification and programme design implementation. Impact The activities that the postholder will work on potentially will have finance and business performance impact through maximizing our levy funding opportunities and supporting growth of skills, knowledge and behaviors to future proof our business. Influence The role will have contact with stakeholders throughout SGN including Operations, Maintenance, Major Projects, IT, Finance and HR. Outside of SGN, the role will have regular engagement with 3rd party suppliers. The role will be specifying work for those suppliers to deliver, followed by ensuring that the suppliers are delivering to specification, plan and cost. The frequency of interaction will depend on the development activities assigned to the postholder. Resource – Who /what are they responsible for? The role will have no direct responsibility for staff, but will support with the management of all our early careers/talent communities.
