Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology invites applications for the position of Counseling Services Assistant Director in the Student Counseling Center. Reporting to the Director of the Student Counseling Center, the Assistant Director oversees clinical operations, supervises licensed clinicians and trainees, ensures adherence to ethical and legal standards, and collaborates with campus partners to provide comprehensive mental health services. The Counseling Services Assistant Director provides leadership for the daily clinical operations of the Student Counseling Center, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, ethical, and student-centered mental health services. Working collaboratively with the Director, this position assists in the development, implementation, and evaluation of clinical policies, procedures, and best practices to support effective service delivery and regulatory compliance. The Assistant Director provides clinical supervision, consultation, mentoring, and professional development to licensed clinicians, interns, and other trainees, while fostering a collaborative and supportive clinical environment. This position maintains a direct clinical caseload that includes individual counseling, group counseling, crisis intervention, and risk assessment, while providing consultation on complex clinical cases and supporting campus-wide crisis response efforts. The Assistant Director monitors clinical documentation, quality assurance initiatives, and adherence to professional, ethical, legal, and accreditation standards. The position also contributes to strategic planning, program assessment, and continuous quality improvement efforts designed to enhance clinical services and student outcomes. In partnership with colleagues across the institution, the Assistant Director collaborates with Student Affairs, Health Services, Residence Life, Accessibility Services, Public Safety, faculty, and other campus stakeholders to promote student well-being through consultation, outreach, prevention programming, and coordinated care. The Assistant Director serves on institutional committees and represents the Counseling Center in campus initiatives. Additional administrative and clinical responsibilities are performed as assigned to support the mission and strategic priorities of the Student Counseling Center and the institution. Qualified candidates will have a master’s degree in clinical counseling or psychology and three years of counseling experience. Must have a current license to practice independently in the State of Indiana. Knowledge of federal/state regulations. Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communications skills are necessary. Must follow the American Counseling Association Code of Ethics. Preferred candidates will have three to five years of relevant work experience; professional counseling experience working with college students and knowledge of common diagnoses within the college population; experience providing clinical supervision; experience utilizing an electronic medical record. Preferred skills include training, supervision, counseling, assessment and campus-wide outreach services. Salary range is $50,500 - $63,500. Salary is competitive. A higher salary may be negotiated based on experience and qualifications. This is a 10-month position.
