Job Summary

This job description includes the safe operations of the Kinetics, MG, Peddinghaus, FICEP, and other automatic and semi-automatic burn table equipment.

Essential Functions

Support all TTI/FSS Company and OSHA Safety Policies to ensure they are followed.

Required to assist in locating correct job material and make sure it is brought into the facility or operate a forklift

Operate overhead crane or forklifts to offload from the machine the cut to specification materials and drop materials

Make sure all torches are in place on the burning machine and at times w

alk beside the moving machine to ensure quality and safe operations.

Align the material with laser and CNC equipment. Occasionally must get up on the table to ensure the alignment is in place.

Operator is then ready to start the burning process which could take up to 2-1/2 hours; during this entire process, the operator must walk beside the moving machine to ensure quality/safe operations

Must be able to read and follow all cut/nest sheets correctly and ensure that they are working with the correct grades, alloys, and sizes before making any cuts on the material

Mark all cut parts with correct job numbers, heat numbers, and/or part numbers to ensure correct traceability

Operators are tasked to palletize materials as required

Quality Standards

  • Report all maintenance issues to proper management.
  • Maintain cleanliness and effective/safe operation of their assigned equipment.

Teamwork

  • Teamwork is essential in this position and the CNC Burn Table Operator must have a positive attitude and be able to work effectively with all departments, managers, and staff.
  • Actively participate in Safety meetings and promote company safety culture while working closely with the safety department.

Qualifications

  • No additional qualifications
  • Education and/or Experience

High School Diploma

2 years’ experience required in CNC operation and or large/heavy steel fabrication table operation.

(Both Preferred)

Language Skills

Must be able to communicate in a professional manner with co-workers, other departments, and managers.

Reporting

This position reports directly to the facility’s automated equipment supervisor and associated shop superintendent.
