Purpose of the Role

• The Data Governance Lead is responsible for defining, implementing, and operationalizing Saint Gobain’s enterprise data governance framework.
• The role ensures data quality, consistency, ownership, and compliance across master and analytical data domains to support business decision making and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and maintain the enterprise data governance framework in alignment with Saint Gobain’s global data strategy
• Establish and operate data governance processes including:

• o Data ownership and stewardship
• o Domain based governance model
• o Governance forums and decision bodies

• Define, document, and enforce data policies, standards, and guidelines across master and analytical data
• Lead data quality management initiatives, including:

• o Definition of data quality rules and KPIs
• o Data quality monitoring and reporting
• o Data issue root cause analysis and remediation coordination

• Work closely with MDM, data engineering, and platform teams to embed governance controls within data pipelines and platforms
• Drive metadata management, including:

• o Business glossary
• o Data definitions
• o End to end data lineage

• Ensure compliance with data privacy, security, and regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, internal data policies)
• Act as the primary interface between business data owners, IT, and analytics teams on governance topics
• Support governance adoption through communication, training, and change management activities
• Track governance maturity and report progress, risks, and improvements to leadership

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven experience in Data Governance roles within large, global organizations
• Strong hands on experience defining and implementing:

• o Data governance operating models
• o Data ownership and stewardship frameworks
• o Data quality management processes

• Good understanding of Master Data Management (MDM) concepts and dependencies
• Experience working with cloud data platforms (Azure preferred)
• Solid knowledge of:

• o Metadata management
• o Business glossary development
• o Data lineage and lifecycle management

• Experience collaborating with data engineering, analytics, and business teams
• Ability to convert business needs into governance compliant data standards

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using data governance tools such as Microsoft Purview, Collibra, Alation, or Informatica
• Exposure to Snowflake based data platforms
• Understanding of modern data architectures (e.g., Bronze / Silver / Gold layers)
• Prior experience in manufacturing, industrial, or supply chain driven organizations
• Familiarity with enterprise compliance and audit requirements
• Experience working in federated or global data governance models
