  • We are looking for a proactive and business-oriented legal professional with 8+ years of
  • post-qualification experience to lead and strengthen the Compliance and Legal functions.
  • The role will involve managing the end-to-end compliance framework of the organization,
  • advising business teams on regulatory exposure, and handling disputes arising from business
  • operations, commercial contracts, and sectoral regulations.
  • This is a high-visibility in-house role requiring strong ownership, structured thinking, and the
  • ability to balance legal risk with commercial priorities.
  • KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:-
  1. Commercial Contracts & Business Advisory
  • ● Draft, review, negotiate and manage commercial agreements including vendor
  • agreements, service contracts, licensing agreements, NDAs, advertising agreements,
  • and platform-related contracts.
  • ● Provide day-to-day legal advisory support to business, product, marketing, and
  • operations teams.
  • ● Translate legal requirements into practical business guidance.
  1. Technology & Privacy Advisory
  • ● Advise the organization on matters relating to technology laws, data protection, and
  • privacy compliance.
  • ● Provide guidance on data collection, processing, storage, sharing, and cross-border
  • transfers in line with applicable legal frameworks.
  • ● Work closely with product, engineering, and analytics teams to ensure
  • privacy-by-design principles are embedded in platform features and technology
  • deployments.
  • ● Review data processing agreements, vendor contracts, and third-party integrations
  • from a privacy and cybersecurity perspective.
  • ● Support implementation and maintenance of internal data governance policies,
  • including user consent frameworks, grievance mechanisms, and data retention
  • protocols.
  • ● Assess regulatory risks associated with new technology initiatives, AI-driven tools,
  • content moderation systems, and digital advertising models.
  1. Regulatory & Corporate Compliance
  • ● Oversee end-to-end compliance under applicable corporate and industry-specific
  • laws.
  • ● Ensure adherence to regulations governing digital media, online platforms, and
  • content distribution, including IT laws and intermediary guidelines.
  • ● Monitor compliance with advertising standards, consumer protection laws, data
  • protection requirements, and content-related regulations.
  • ● Develop and maintain internal compliance frameworks, SOPs, and risk registers.
  • ● Conduct periodic compliance audits and support internal governance processes.
  • ● Track regulatory developments affecting media, technology, and digital businesses
  • and advise leadership proactively.
  1. Content & Platform Risk Advisory
  • ● Advise content, marketing, and product teams on legal risks related to publication and
  • distribution.
  • ● Review and assess risks concerning defamation, IP infringement, privacy violations,
  • and misleading advertisements.
  • ● Provide timely guidance on sensitive or high-impact stories.
  • ● Support crisis-response situations involving legal exposure.
  1. Litigation & Dispute Management
  • ● Manage litigation and pre-litigation matters including legal notices, consumer
  • complaints, IP disputes, and regulatory queries.
  • ● Coordinate with external counsel and monitor ongoing matters.
  • ● Assist in risk assessment and strategy formulation.
  1. Intellectual Property Management
  • ● Manage national and international trademark portfolios.
  • ● Advise on copyright, trademark, passing off, and infringement issues.
  • ● Work with external counsel on filings and enforcement actions.
  1. Grievance Redressal & Regulatory Compliance
  • ● Handle daily user grievance redressal mechanisms in compliance with applicable
  • intermediary and IT regulations.
  • ● Draft and respond to notices from regulators, authorities, and law enforcement
  • agencies.
  • ● Support compliance with technology, privacy, advertising, and media-related laws.
  1. Policy & Internal Governance
  • ● Assist in drafting and updating internal policies (privacy policy, terms of use, content
  • guidelines, employee policies, etc.).
  • ● Stay updated on legal developments impacting the digital media and internet
  • ecosystem.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  1. PQE: 8 years, with prior work experience with law firms and/or in house roles.
  2. The candidates should have sound knowledge of the Companies Act, Foreign
  • Exchange laws, Labour laws, Tech and Privacy laws, Content Reviewing, Media
  • laws, Advertisement Laws and Corporate laws.
  1. Exposure to IT, media, technology, advertising, privacy, IP, and internet law.
  2. Law graduate (5-year degree preferred) from a reputed institution.
  3. Candidates must have full working proficiency in English and Hindi (written and

spoken).

  1. Prior experience working with companies in the internet, digital media, or technology

companies.

  1. Hands-on experience in contract review, drafting, and media licensing matters.

KEY COMPETENCIES

  1. Strong experience in handling private equity/venture capital investments, merger &

acquisition, cross border transactions (both inbound and outbound.)

  1. Corporate structuring and commercial contracts, including vendor agreements, NDAs,

employment agreements, media licensing matters. etc.

  1. Corporate, labour, technology, privacy and commercial advisory, including drafting of

various policies.

  1. Strong analytical and risk-assessment ability.
  2. Excellent drafting, communication, and negotiation skills.
  3. Ability to deliver clear, concise, and business-friendly legal advice.
  4. Ability to independently manage legal matters.
  5. High responsiveness in time-sensitive environments.
  6. Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  7. Commercially pragmatic and solution-driven approach.

Experience in litigation, if any, is an optional requirement.
