About The Role

Responsibilities

Testing & Quality Assurance

  • Design, develop, and execute manual and automated test cases for React-based

frontend and FastAPI/Python backend systems

  • Validate REST APIs, data flows, and database integrity across the full application stack
  • Perform functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing
  • Test and validate medical imaging workflows including DICOM data handling and HL7

messaging

Collaboration & Process

  • Work closely with developers, product managers, and clinical stakeholders to

understand requirements and define acceptance criteria

  • Participate in code reviews from a QA perspective and contribute to shift-left testing

practices

  • Identify, document, and track defects using issue tracking tools; follow up through to

resolution

  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines by integrating automated tests and ensuring quality gates

Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain comprehensive test plans, test cases, and QA documentation
  • Support compliance and audit activities relevant to healthcare software standards
  • Contribute to team discussions on quality strategy and continuous improvement

Required Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks (e.g., Pytest, Vitest, Selenium, or

Cypress)

  • Proficiency in writing test scripts in Python and/or JavaScript/TypeScript
  • Experience testing REST APIs using tools such as Postman, pytest, or similar
  • Familiarity with SQL databases (MySQL or similar) for data validation
  • Understanding of frontend testing concepts for React applications
  • Experience with cloud-based application testing (AWS, GCP, or Azure environments)
  • Hands-on experience with regression testing — designing regression suites and

ensuring build stability across releases

  • Experience with load and performance testing using tools such as JMeter, Locust, k6, or

similar

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • ~2 years’ experience with software development/testing
  • JLPT N1 or N2 certification
  • Strong written and spoken Japanese and English communication skills
  • Prior experience working onsite in Japan
  • Experience working with Japanese clients

Good to Have

  • Exposure to medical imaging or healthcare systems (DICOM, HL7, FHIR)
  • Familiarity with pydicom, hl7apy, or similar healthcare data tools
  • Experience with containerised environments using Docker
  • Experience working in distributed or remote-first teams
  • Awareness of healthcare software compliance standards (e.g., FDA, CE, ISO 13485)
