Purpose • Contributes to the overall success of the IBTT – International Banking Technology and Transformation, ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team´s business strategies and objectives. Ensure all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures. This role will support on-going Power BI, SSIS development and maintenance, Windows Server Infrastructure support, as well as strategic objectives of Cloud data consumption enablement and migration from on-premise to Cloud technology. Accountabilities • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge. • Functions as a member of an agile team and helps drive consistent development practices, tools usage, common components, and patterns. • Support and maintain PowerBI reports, dashboards, datasets, workspaces and data connectivity across all Caribbean teams/departments. • Design, develop, test and deploy SSIS packages for data integration and ETL processes • Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures • Support and monitor server health performance and capacity utilization • Support patching, upgrade, security and software currency remediation activities • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions. • Creates an environment in which his/her team pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk. Reporting Relationships Primary Manager: Senior Manager Direct Reports: Shared Reports VP Collections Dimensions Number of employees - Individual contributor Countries / regions/business units supported – EDL and Power BI Reporting for Caribbean region Countries. Must have: Experience of working in technology projects / supporting systems like Power BI, SSIS, ETL process. Experience working with bitbucket, JIRA and confluence (Agile methodologies) Cloud technologies experience preferred (Azure Databricks/DataFactory). Familiarity with Hadoop System/Apache HIVE HQL, Oracle would be an asset Technical curiosity and eagerness to learn new technologies. Regulatory bodies and special requirements - Comply with Scotiabank’s IT Risk data standards. The incumbent is responsible for supporting the following: Develop and support SSIS packages for data integration and ETL processes. Support and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards, workspaces. Manage Power BI user access, permissions and governance standard. Troubleshoot performance issues. Interpret data, analyze results and optimize report execution and provide ongoing support. Troubleshoot and resolve connectivity issues between ETL processes and source/target systems, including databases, APIs, file servers, SFTP servers, cloud platform and third- party applications. Supporting ad hoc data requirements for regulatory reporting and strategy development for Senior management. Perform root cause analysis for production incidents Identify, analyze and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets Provide off hour support for Production support tasks if required. Good knowledge of Incident, Change management process and Service Requests, etc. Education / Experience / Other Information (include only those that are specific to the role) • Bachelor´s Degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering or relevant field • 2+ years work experience as a Data Engineer or Data Analyst • Experience with SSIS, SQL Server, SQL, and Power BI (cloud and on-premise) • Experience working in Windows & Unix environment. • Detail Oriented, team player with an ability to work with minimal direction. • Fluency in English (B2+) • Beneficial, but not required: DataStage, GCP, Hadoop, Azure (Databricks or Data Factory) Competencies Working Conditions Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence Location(s): Colombia : Bogota : Bogota ScotiaTech is a business unit within ScotiaGBS, a Scotiabank Group company located in Bogota, Colombia.
