Posting Closing Date: 08/18/2026 Total Compensation Estimator Tool Requisition #880988 OPS (Temporary) ADVANCED PRACTICE REGISTERED NURSE Florida Department of Veterans’ Affairs Jenkins State Domiciliary Veterans' Home Lake City, Columbia County Rate per Hour: $45.00 20 hour a week position Anticipated Vacancy ** Other vacant OPS (Temporary) APRN positions (shifts) may be filled from this advertisement within Six (6) months of the closing date** MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : Must have a valid Florida Advanced Practice Registered Nursing License Must have a current CPR Card Must be willing and able to work in Lake City, Florida Successful completion of the due diligence process, to include but not limited to, a Level II background screen and drug screen <https://info.flclearinghouse.com> PERFORMANCE STANDARDS AND EXPECTATIONS : The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse provides primary care and performs certain medical acts under protocols established mutually with the Medical Director and as required by the Nurse Practice Act. Performs complete physical appraisal of staff, appropriate to background and training Compiles and evaluates medical histories and physical findings Performs complete physical of residents within 48 hours of admission Performs complete physical for residents on State Health Assessment form 3008 for Nursing Home Placement as directed by the Administrator or DON or designee Completes State Health Assessment form 1823 for resident change of status and as directed by the Administrator or DON or designee Monitors medication and initiates appropriate therapies for certain conditions and alters medications according to variations in resident’s response within established protocols in the absence of a primary physician Meets with facility Medical Director for monthly review of charts Refers residents to VA as needed for treatment and lab work Orders medications from VA or community pharmacy in the absence of primary care physician Refers to specialty clinics as needed Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor This is an OPS (Temporary) position.
