About The Role

Purpose The corporate affairs team at Lidl oversees internal communications, external communications/PR, government relations and CSR/corporate giving. We’re looking for a detail-oriented, self-starter who is ready to have a hand in all parts of the corporate affairs team. This jack-of-all-trades person will be responsible for supporting the Head of Corporate Affairs and executing Lidl US’ corporate affairs strategy. The person will have a keen eye for detail, proactively manage workstreams and easily work within tight deadlines. Responsibilities Support execution of internal communications strategy Help develop content for internal channels (intranet, internal app, etc). Help maintain content calendars Support town hall meetings as needed (deck creation, in-person execution) Support PR efforts Work with various internal teams to gather information, facilitate approvals, etc Draft PR reactive statements as needed Periodically travel to store openings Support execution of CSR strategy Manage corporate donations Support development of CSR report Support employee engagement CSR initiatives Support corporate web / social media Partner with Head of Corporate Affairs to plan and create corporate social channel content (videos, images, text, etc) Support executive team LinkedIn needs as necessary Support corporate website content and design About You You are task and detail oriented You are a self-starter; you proactively communicate project status, potential challenges and are open to feedback You consider yourself interested in and familiar with the majority of the following: corporate communications, brand PR, executive communications, internal communications, government relations, CSR / corporate giving You are eager to learn more about all aspects of corporate affairs You are incredible at designing all types of materials from social media content to slide decks to fact sheets to emails You have the ability to write engaging material on quick deadlines You approach work with a collaborative mindset and can easily work with various stakeholders You dive into your work; you like to organize workstreams, create content calendars and are comfortable juggling various projects You have an interest in finding new ways to creatively communicate with employees Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Strong writing and design skills Ability to learn and adapt to changing situations and strive for constant improvement Ability to prioritize tasks and manage diverse workload with strong organizational skills Required Education, Certifications/ Licenses, Related Experience Bachelor’s Degree 1-3 years of experience in corporate communications, marketing or related field Physical Requirements Ability to work in a fast-paced working environment Ability to work in situations that involve prolonged sitting, standing, walking, squatting and/or bending more than half the time Ability to operate equipment that requires the constant use of hands/fingers/wrists more than half the time Ability to spend more than half the time viewing computer monitors Ability to identify and distinguish between colors more than half the time This position commutes between regional stores/offices/distribution centers less than 25% of the time This position requires overnight domestic travel up to 20% of the time Anticipated travel will be by car, air, and/or train Our Values Ability to demonstrate, understand, and continuously apply our workplace values: Performance: We thrive together to passionately pursue ambitious goals, constantly develop ourselves, and turn complex organizational challenges into opportunities.
