Internship - Congestion Management - Solver Parameters Tuning

Function The internship takes place in the Grid Development department, within the Power System Planning (PSP) team. The scope of the project is to develop a tool and perform analyses that, for a given network topology and based on load flow results prior to optimization: Identify the optimal shape of the penalty cost function (best combination of breakpoints and slopes) to minimize constraint violations after optimization. Determine the optimal scaling factor for non-linear soft constraints (e.g. branch loading limits) in order to improve convergence time. The project focuses on the optimization of a Security-Constrained DC Optimal Power Flow / Unit Commitment problem using a piecewise linear penalty function.
