Location: ZAF - East London, Stewart Drive Job Posting Title: Freight Forwarder - 123904 Time Type: Full Time Job Title: Freight Forwarder, Air Import Job Location: DSV, 2 Stewart Drive Baysville East London Main Purpose of The Role: The Controller will ensure the efficient and compliant management of import operations within the automotive logistics sector, overseeing documentation, customs clearance, cargo movement, and financial accuracy. The role is central to maintaining smooth end-to-end processes, while delivering reliable client support. Key Focus Areas • Operational Oversight: Manage and monitor logistics and supply chain activities specific to the automotive market. • Problem-Solving & Innovation: Think outside the box to identify solutions that improve efficiency and reduce risk. • Team Collaboration: Act as a strong team player, supporting colleagues and fostering a cooperative work environment. • Proactivity & Hustle: Anticipate challenges, take initiative, and push projects forward with energy and determination. Minimum Requirements: Minimum of 7 years’ experience in Freight forwarding and controlling. Qualifications: Matric (essential) Advantageous to have Industry level qualification/ tertiary qualification Computer packages Office 365 (Teams, OneNote, Forms), MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook Cargowise Duties and Responsibilities: Capturing of charges in CW1 Tracking of shipments Following up and retrieving shipping documents after sailing from origin offices Engage origin offices and carriers regarding forwarding of shipments Registration of shipments on CW1 Following up on carrier invoices Checking vendor invoices and raising queries as required. Opening shipment files and documents assembly Completing key updates and milestones in CW1 Update and maintenance of lane specific rates monthly Shipment status reporting as required Assisting the Client lead with Ad hoc projects and reporting Airfreight quotes Problem solving and finding solutions Added Advantages Knowledge of current INCOTERMS® 2010 Knowledge of international logistics Good communication skills Previous direct client facing experience Automotive experience National Certificate in logistics and supply chain managment DSV – Global transport and logistics Working at DSV means playing in a different league.
