Junior Shopify Developer (Part-time)

As the company continues to expand its ecommerce presence, they are seeking a Junior Shopify Developer to support ongoing storefront development, website optimization, and functionality improvements.Role OverviewThe Junior Shopify Developer will support the day-to-day development, maintenance, and optimization of the company’s Shopify storefront. Working closely with a Senior Shopify Developer, the Junior Shopify Developer will assist with theme updates, page development, storefront enhancements, troubleshooting, testing, and new feature implementation.This role is ideal for someone with a solid foundation in Shopify development who is eager to strengthen their technical skills, gain hands-on ecommerce development experience, and contribute to a responsive, reliable, and user-friendly online shopping experience.LocationFully Remote | 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM EST | Part-timeKey ResponsibilitiesShopify Development & Storefront EnhancementsAssist with Shopify theme updates, customization, and ongoing storefront <enhancements.Build> and update landing pages, collection pages, product pages, and other storefront content.Implement design changes and website updates provided by internal teams.Make content, layout, styling, and functionality updates across the Shopify <storefront.Support> the implementation of new website features under the guidance of the Senior Shopify Developer.Ensure development work aligns with established designs and storefront <requirements.Website> Maintenance & TroubleshootingTroubleshoot and resolve website bugs, styling issues, and basic functionality problems.Assist with maintaining Shopify apps and third-party integrations.Test website changes and new functionality before updates are published.Identify and communicate potential issues that could affect the customer <experience.Help> maintain a responsive, functional, and user-friendly storefront across desktop and mobile <devices.Support> ongoing website optimization and maintenance <initiatives.Team> Collaboration & Development SupportWork closely with the Senior Shopify Developer to complete assigned development tasks accurately and on time.Collaborate with marketing, ecommerce, and creative teams when implementing website and content updates.Communicate progress, challenges, and development needs clearly with relevant team members.Ask questions and seek clarification when requirements or technical expectations are unclear.Stay organized while managing multiple development tasks and priorities.Incorporate feedback into development work and continuously strengthen technical capabilities.QualificationsExperience1–3 years of experience working with Shopify.Hands-on experience making updates to Shopify themes and storefronts.Experience building or updating landing pages, collection pages, and product pages within Shopify.Experience troubleshooting basic website, styling, or storefront functionality issues.Previous experience working with ecommerce websites is preferred.Experience using Git or another version control tool is a plus.SkillsWorking knowledge of Shopify and Liquid for implementing and customizing ecommerce storefront functionality.Working knowledge of HTML and CSS for making content, layout, and styling updates.Basic to intermediate JavaScript skills for supporting storefront functionality and interactive website elements.Familiarity with Shopify apps, third-party integrations, and theme customization.Strong understanding of responsive web design principles and the ability to support consistent experiences across desktop and mobile devices.Strong attention to detail when implementing, reviewing, and testing website updates.Good problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot development and storefront issues.Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple development tasks and priorities.Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating effectively with technical and cross-functional teams.Strong communication skills with a willingness to ask questions, receive feedback, and continuously learn.What Success Looks LikeDevelopment tasks are completed accurately and within established <timelines.Website> updates and new functionality are implemented with minimal bugs or issues.The Shopify storefront remains responsive, functional, and user-friendly across devices.Strong collaboration is maintained with the Senior Shopify Developer and cross-functional teams.Storefront improvements consistently meet quality and design expectations.Communication remains reliable, and technical capabilities continue to develop over time.OpportunityThis is an excellent opportunity for a Junior Shopify Developer looking to grow within a fast-paced ecommerce environment.
