We currently hire in most U.S. states, with the exception of Hawaii.About the RoleWe are seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to help Rula navigate the complex intersection of healthcare regulation and commercial growth. In this role, you will support our payor and clinical contracting efforts, serving as a trusted partner to our business teams as we build scalable, compliant partnerships and ensure quality services are delivered. You will also tackle nuanced regulatory challenges—such as corporate practice of medicine; fraud and abuse; telehealth; scope of practice; state AI laws—transforming complexity into clear, actionable advice that proactively mitigates risks to the business, supports our daily operations, and achieves business objectives and goals. Joining our growing legal team means you will have the opportunity to build foundational processes that directly enable our mission of making high-quality mental healthcare accessible to everyone.Required Qualifications7+ years of related professional experienceMinimum of 5 years of healthcare regulatory law experience, either in a law firm or in-house, providing strategic guidance and legal support on a variety of healthcare regulatory matters including, but not limited to, corporate practice of medicine; federal and state fraud and abuse laws (e.g., Anti-Kickback Statutes; False Claims Act; Civil Monetary Penalties Law); scope of practice; telehealth laws; HIPAA; clinical governance frameworks for AI initiatives; Medicare and Medicaid requirements and reimbursement issuesMinimum of 5 years of contracting experience including drafting and negotiating provider agreements, payor agreements, commercial agreements, network participation agreements, business associate agreements, management services agreements, professional services agreements, and other related agreementsExperience working with and supporting healthcare providers and/or healthcare entitiesStrong writing, analytic, communication, and interpersonal skills to provide efficient, succinct, and practical guidance and support in a fast-paced working environmentPreferred QualificationsWhile having the preferred qualifications enhances your candidacy, having all of them is not mandatory.
