Join us!Role OverviewCohere has a strong AI narrative, the most deployable product, and a CEO who co-authored the foundational paper of modern AI. The company is positioned to become the transatlantic leader in sovereign AI for enterprise and government, and needs a storytelling engine to deliver that story at scale. This role sits within the team that is building that <engine.In> this cross functional role, you will stand up our PR and Communications function in the APAC region. You'll partner with the global Corporate Communications team to create regional communications plans that fuel our growth among governments and enterprises in the most highly-regulated industries. You’ll nurture how we talk to customers, partners, and employees, ensuring that the corporate message resonates culturally for each region and audience.This is a rare opportunity to build a comprehensive APAC communications function at a fast-growing company in the most dynamic space in technology. This is a role for someone who likes to take big swings – and have fun doing it – where no job is too big or too small.Key ResponsibilitiesBuild a PR and Communications function from the ground up, including hiring PR Managers and agencies in key territories including Korea, Singapore, Japan, India, Australia.Implement PR & Corporate Communications strategies that align with organizational goals, values, and brand positioning across internal and external audiences at the local and regional levelPartner with PR, marketing, sales, and external stakeholders to craft clear, compelling messaging and materials that support business priorities, organisational changes, and market positioningDevelop and execute rapid response muscle in each regionOversee high-impact communications forums including executive speaking engagements, industry conferences, customer events, and internal leadership gatheringsAdopt AI integration for the communications team to enhance content ideation, creation, and scalingOversee and optimize the APAC communications channel ecosystem—including earned media, owned channels, executive communications, and employee engagement tools—while innovating with emerging formats and technologiesLead cross-functional APAC storytelling initiatives that connect daily work to Cohere's mission, amplify customer success stories, and elevate executive thought leadership in the marketplaceLeverage data-driven insights and audience research to inform communications strategies that resonate with employees, customers, partners, investors, and industry influencersPartner with Corporate Communications on crisis and issues communications preparedness and response across all stakeholder groups, coordinating with legal, executive leadership, and functional teams to protect corporate reputation and stakeholder trustServe as the central communications hub, ensuring seamless integration and consistency between internal communications, external PR, marketing narratives, and executive messaging across all touchpointsQualificationsHave 12-15 years of experience in-house corporate communications, ideally within a fast-paced, high-growth tech or AI environment5+ years of experience in people managementAre scrappy.
