About The Role
The Night Monitor is responsible for ensuring the safety, security, and accountability of Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) students (grades 9–12) during overnight academic and athletic events in the Kanto Region.
Location
Kanto Region, Japan
Hours
21:30 – 06:00 (overnight duty during scheduled events)
Key Responsibilities
Arrival & Preparation
: Report to assigned lodging by 21:30; receive instructions, room assignments, and required forms.
Active Monitoring
: Ensure students remain in assigned rooms or sleeping areas from 22:00–06:00; maintain visible presence in designated areas.
Patrols
: Conduct routine patrols of hallways, stairwells, lobbies, and surrounding areas at required intervals (15–60 minutes depending on facility type).
Incident Response
: Stay alert to student distress, misconduct, suspicious activity, or hazards; immediately notify DoDEA POC; assist with evacuations or emergencies.
