About The Role
Position
On-Site Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant
Location
Oconaluftee Job Corps Civilian Conservation Center, Cherokee, NC
Schedule
1–2 days per week, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct health screenings, physical exams, and immunizations.
- Diagnose and treat minor and acute illnesses.
- Develop care and management plans for chronic health conditions.
- Prescribe and manage medications under physician supervision.
- Record all health encounters in the Student Health Record (SHR) promptly and accurately.
- Provide health education and counseling to students on wellness, prevention, and employability.
Qualifications
- Current Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license (unrestricted) in North Carolina.
- Certification from a recognized professional board (AANP, ANCC, or NCCPA).
- Minimum 1 year of clinical experience preferred.
