EHS Jr Engineer

Job Description – Junior Engineer (EHS) Department: Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Industry: Pharmaceutical / API / Formulations Position: Junior Engineer – EHS Experience: 0–3 Years Qualification: <B.Tech/B.E>. in Chemical / Environmental / Mechanical / Civil Engineering or equivalent Location: Plant / Manufacturing Facility Job Purpose To support the implementation and monitoring of Environment, Health & Safety systems at the pharmaceutical manufacturing facility and ensure compliance with company EHS procedures and applicable statutory requirements. Key Responsibilities 1. Safety Management Conduct routine safety inspections of plant areas, utilities, warehouses and production areas. Identify unsafe acts and unsafe conditions and ensure corrective actions. Support HIRA, JSA/JHA, risk assessments and workplace safety assessments. Monitor PPE compliance and safe work practices. Support permit-to-work systems such as hot work, work at height, confined space and electrical work. Assist in incident/near-miss reporting, investigation and Root Cause Analysis. 2. Fire & Emergency Safety Monitor fire protection and firefighting systems. Conduct and document emergency mock drills. Support emergency preparedness and response activities. Check availability and condition of fire extinguishers, hydrants, alarms, emergency showers and other safety equipment. Participate in emergency response team activities. 3. Chemical & Process Safety Monitor safe handling, storage and transportation of hazardous chemicals. Maintain and review Safety Data Sheets (SDS/MSDS). Support chemical compatibility and storage inspections. Assist in HAZOP, What-If analysis, risk assessments and process-safety activities. Ensure proper labeling and identification of chemicals and hazardous materials. 4. Environmental Management Monitor hazardous and non-hazardous waste segregation, storage and disposal. Support ETP/STP and environmental monitoring activities. Maintain environmental records and reports. Assist with air, water, wastewater and other environmental monitoring. Support compliance with applicable Pollution Control Board requirements. Assist in maintaining environmental documentation and manifests. 5. Training & Awareness Conduct/assist with EHS induction training for employees and
