About The Role

Key Responsibilities SMT PCB Assembly Operate and optimize SMT assembly processes includin Laser Marking Solder Paste Printing (SPP) Solder Paste Inspection (SPI) Pick Place Programming Reflow Soldering AOI Inspection Depaneling Flying Probe Testing Conformal Coating Manual Soldering (SMT Through-Hole) Microscope Inspection (Keyence) Process Development Develop prototype assembly processes for new products. Prepare work instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Optimize assembly yield and reduce prototype turnaround time. Introduce continuous improvement initiatives within the prototype lab Equipment Management Operate and maintain SMT production equipment. Coordinate preventive maintenance and calibration Support installation and qualification of new prototype equipment Troubleshoot machine-related issues. Quality Assurance Ensure compliance with automotive quality standards. Perform first article inspections Review AOI and Flying Probe test reports Support failure analysis and root cause investigations. Maintain prototype traceability and documentation. Cross-Functional Coordination Work closely with : Hardware Design Engineers, PCB Layout Engineers, Validation Engineers, Manufacturing Engineering, Purchasing Suppliers Support design verification (DV), product validation (PV), and engineering change activities. Documentation Maintain prototype build records. Prepare prototype build reports. Generate assembly instructions and process documentation. Maintain equipment utilization records Required Technical Skills Strong knowledge of SMT process flow PCB assembly process. IPC-A-610 workmanship standards. IPC J-STD-001 soldering standards. Automotive electronics manufacturing. Prototype build management. AOI programming SPI operation Pick Place programming Reflow profile optimization Flying Probe testing Manual soldering and rework BGA, QFN, QFP, and fine-pitch component handling Conformal coating process ESD handling requirements Process validation and qualification Reading PCB Gerber files, BOM, and assembly drawings. Familiarity with automotive communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, or Ethernet Preferred Tools Equipment SMT Pick Place Machines Reflow Oven SPI Machine AOI System Flying Probe Tester Laser Marker PCB Depaneling Machine Keyence Digital Microscope Soldering Rework Stations X-Ray Inspection (preferred)
