Overview Registered Nurse – Operating Room (OR) in San Luis Obispo, California. Start date: 08/31/2026. This is a 13-week travel assignment in a Short Term Acute Care Hospital with 40 guaranteed hours per week and 16-hour day shifts. Weekly pay ranges from $546 to $574 per week. Key Highlights - Weekly pay: $546–$574 (per week) - Guaranteed hours: 40 per week - Contract duration: 13 weeks - Shift: 16-hour days (with rotating start times) - Start date: 08/31/2026 - Setting: Short Term Acute Care Hospital OR unit; travel assignment - Credentials: ACLS, BLS, and PALS required Responsibilities - Circulate in the operating room during surgical procedures; assist surgeons and anesthesiologists - Coordinate flow of equipment, supplies, and staff to support sterile, efficient procedures - Maintain patient safety and aseptic technique throughout the perioperative period - Participate in pre-, intra-, and post-operative patient care planning and nursing treatment - Prepare patients for surgery, including safe positioning and documentation of procedures - Safely handle and dispose of biohazardous materials and utilize facility information systems for care delivery - Adhere to unit-specific policies and contribute to a collaborative perioperative team - This role is represented by CNA Requirements - Current RN license in the state of practice (California) Required - Associate Degree in Nursing (A.S.) or equivalent Required; Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) Preferred - Minimum 1 year of recent full-time experience in the operating room Required; OR experience in Orthopedics, Neurology, and Trauma strongly preferred - Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Required; ACLS Required; PALS Required - CNOR certification Preferred - Ability to circulate and work effectively in the OR setting; schedule may rotate and include call - Strong teamwork, communication, and critical-thinking skills Benefits and Support - Guaranteed hours and defined weekly pay - 24/7 recruiter and travel support - Dedicated credentialing and onboarding assistance - Orientation and unit-specific training - Potential extension opportunities based on performance and unit needs - Housing assistance available for eligible candidates Please note: Pay rates and guaranteed hours are estimates and may vary.
