Overview Registered Nurse, Charge Acute Care – Travel assignment in San Luis Obispo, CA. Start date 08/31/2026 for 13 weeks. Weekly pay: $2,428–$2,512 per week. Guaranteed hours: 36 per week. Shift: 3x12-hour nights (1800–0630). Setting: Short Term Acute Care Hospital. This unit-based leadership role works with the Nurse Manager, Director, physicians, and staff to deliver cost-effective, professional care that supports positive patient outcomes and high patient satisfaction while maintaining patient safety. Key Highlights - Weekly pay: $2,428–$2,512 per week - Guaranteed hours: 36 hours/week - Contract duration: 13 weeks - Shift: Night shift, 3 x 12-hour shifts - Start date: 08/31/2026 - Work setting: Short Term Acute Care Hospital unit - No set schedule/rotating Responsibilities - Provide unit-based leadership, supervising nursing and ancillary personnel to ensure safe, evidence-based patient care - Collaborate with the Nurse Manager, Director, physicians, and care teams to develop and revise individualized care plans - Direct and monitor staff in executing patient care activities; participate in direct patient care as needed - Conduct rounds to assess patient needs, introduce self to patients and families, and solicit feedback on nursing services - Promote patient- and family-centered care with attention to cultural diversity and personal needs - Support quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient experience and safety across the unit Requirements - Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice (California) - Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required; Master’s Degree preferred - Minimum 5 years of technical nursing experience; at least 2 years in a supervisory role; charge nurse experience required - Certifications: AHA-BLS or ARC-BLS required; AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS required; AHA-NRP or ARC-NALS required; Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM) required - Additional: NRP, ALCS, BLS, and AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring within the last 2 years required - Ability to work in a fast-paced acute care environment; strong interprofessional collaboration and leadership skills - No on-call required Benefits and Support - Dedicated recruiter and travel support - 24/7 support during the assignment - Contract extension opportunities - Nationwide assignments Find more opportunities If you’d like to explore other open roles, you can view additional travel nursing opportunities at Healthforce Healthcare LLC by visiting <https://healthforce.applytojob.com/apply> Please note: Pay rates and guaranteed hours are estimates and may vary.
