About The Role
Your responsibilities Risk and Controls Management You provide advice and guidance to the Chief Customer Office division, on the implementation of the Risk Management Framework. You manage the first line risk response, supporting maintenance of current and fit for purpose risk profiles. You work with the first line risk community to identify which key organisational controls are relied upon across the enterprise, prioritising testing, recommending improvements, and seeking opportunities to streamline and automate. You support the teams within each division to identify and manage current and emerging risks. You support the business to conduct required first line activities. For example: control design and effectiveness testing; obligations mapping; and reasonable steps oversight. Compliance and Obligations You will monitor and support the delivery and maintenance of compliance plans. You provide advice and make recommendations on obligations mapping and ownership. Business Continuity Planning You ensure that the BCPs, or elements of the BCPs are tested at least annually. Incident and Breach Management You assess incidents, including incident / breach investigation (root cause analysis), and make recommendations on mitigating actions and control improvement design. Identify control deficiencies through the monitoring of incidents and root cause analysis. Risk Culture and Divisional Requirements You promote a positive Risk Culture throughout your sphere of influence, through education and modelling appropriate behaviours. You organise and prepare the requirements for the risk forums. You liaise with and challenge the second and third lines of defence as required. You actively seek opportunities to improve risk processes and procedures. Regulatory change and support You support and advise on the implementation, embedding and ongoing monitoring of regulatory change initiatives. Leadership You are accountable for contributing to a culture of exceptional service, teamwork, commitment to excellence and a professional ethic that enables the achievement of team and organisational objectives. You engage team members at any level to increase their awareness of the Risk Management Framework. This can take the form of formal or informal training or discussions. Your experience You will have: Minimum 5 years in financial services with a strong understanding of operational risk and compliance in the financial services industry Relevant tertiary qualifications Demonstrated experience in a similar risk and/or compliance role, preferably in the 1LOD and in Banking and Financial Services Industry Experience in formulating and implementing compliance and compliance procedures High level of understanding and practical experience of Operational Risk Demonstrated experience with industry and governance standards Strong Experience in risks relating to banking, and the legislative/regulatory requirements around these Experience in managing and influencing multi-faceted stakeholders (internal and external) to balance competing priorities, different needs, and non-aligned expectations. Strategic thinking and the ability to deliver solutions to risk and compliance issues, including experience in developing and delivering Risk and compliance strategies aimed to enhance 1LOD capability and uplift maturity.
