Licensed Veterinary Technician, Hospital Float - CVT/LVT/RVT $21–$33/hr + Shift & Weekend Differentials + $2,500 Sign-On Bonus Nashville Veterinary Specialists | Nashville, TN Full-Time | Four 10-Hour Shifts per Week Nashville Veterinary Specialists (NVS) is seeking an experienced Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our team as a full-time Hospital Float in Nashville, TN. This role is ideal for a versatile Veterinary Technician who enjoys working across specialty services, adapting to the needs of different departments, and supporting exceptional patient care. You'll have opportunities to continue developing your skills while working alongside a collaborative team in a newly renovated and expanded specialty hospital. Support veterinarians and Veterinary Technicians with examinations, treatments, diagnostics, procedures, and hospitalized patient care. Adapt to the individual needs of patients and clinical teams while floating between departments. Perform Veterinary Technician skills including triage, patient restraint, phlebotomy, catheter placement, medication administration, anesthesia support, and patient monitoring. Assist with diagnostic imaging and laboratory procedures. Monitor patients throughout treatment and communicate changes in patient condition to the medical team. Maintain accurate medical records and follow established hospital protocols. Provide compassionate, professional communication and support to clients and fellow team members. Help maintain a clean, organized, and efficient clinical environment. Collaborate with doctors, Veterinary Technicians, Veterinary Assistants, and support teams to promote continuity of patient care. Demonstrate flexibility and a willingness to support different services and hospital priorities. Contribute to a positive, respectful, and uplifting hospital culture. Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications Licensed Veterinary Technician credential required: LVMT, CVT, LVT, or RVT Must obtain Tennessee veterinary technician licensure within 90 days of start date Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a Veterinary Technician Specialty veterinary experience in Surgery and Internal Medicine required Broad understanding of veterinary medicine, including triage, disease processes, pharmacology, restraint, diagnostic imaging, phlebotomy, anesthesia, laboratory equipment, and laboratory procedures Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills Calm, professional demeanor in stressful situations High emotional intelligence and ability to work effectively with clients and team members Strong attention to detail Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to adapt quickly to changing hospital and patient needs Commitment to continued learning and professional development Bilingual or multilingual communication skills are a plus Fluent English speaking and reading skills required About the Hospital Nashville Veterinary Specialists is a specialty veterinary hospital in Nashville, TN committed to providing excellent patient care while fostering a positive, respectful, and supportive workplace.
