Veterinary Technician, ICU | $24–$31/hr Location: South Deerfield, MA Schedule: Full-Time | Day, Mid, and Overnight Options Available Compensation: $24–$31/hour + Shift Differentials + Additional Earning Potential for VTS Technicians Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Hospital (VESH) in South Deerfield, MA is hiring an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our ICU team. This full-time Veterinary Technician opportunity is ideal for a Vet Tech who enjoys emergency medicine, critical care, advanced nursing, and working hands-on with hospitalized patients. CVT/LVT/RVT license reimbursement RECOVER Training for advanced CPR skills Veterinary Technician Education Sponsorships + VTNE reimbursement + VTS Support 16-Week VTNE Study Group Professional Development Assistance PTO + Sick Time Employee Referral Bonuses + Employee Pet Discount + Immediate Family Pet Discount Access exclusive financial benefits to help you save on student loans, mortgages, and personal loans NVA Pet Resort Discount + Pet Insurance Discount Medical, Dental, Vision + HSA/FSA Options Insurance Options: Life and AD&D + Short & Long-Term Disability + Critical Illness + Accident + Hospital Indemnity 401(k) with employer match Employee Assistance Program Schedule Full-time ICU Veterinary Technician schedules available: Overnights: Three 12-hour shifts 7:00pm–7:00am Rotational Schedule: Combination of: Days: 7:00am–7:00pm Mid: 1:00pm–1:00am Overnights: 7:00pm–7:00am Weekend Requirement: 50% weekend availability required Open to one weekend day per week OR rotating full weekends (both days on one weekend, both off the next) Responsibilities Provide nursing care and continuous monitoring for ICU and hospitalized patients Obtain and record patient vitals, treatments, and assessments accurately Administer medications, fluids, and treatments as directed Assist doctors with diagnostics, emergency procedures, and treatment plans Monitor anesthesia and sedation recovery as needed Perform laboratory sample collection and patient restraint Operate and support advanced monitoring equipment Collaborate with ER, ICU, and Specialty teams to provide exceptional patient care Communicate effectively with doctors, technicians, and client care teams Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient treatment space Qualifications We’re looking for Veterinary Technicians who are passionate about emergency medicine, patient care, and teamwork. Ideal candidates will have: Veterinary Technician experience in emergency, ICU, or specialty practice preferred CVT, LVT, or RVT strongly preferred, but experienced non-credentialed technicians are encouraged to apply Strong technical skills and confidence handling critical patients Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced hospital environment Excellent communication and teamwork skills Positive attitude with a collaborative, patient-focused approach Ability to prioritize and adapt in emergency situations Desire to continue learning and growing clinically Fluent English speaking and reading skills required About VESH South Deerfield Like human medical specialists, VESH supports primary care veterinarians with the evaluation and treatment of pets affected by trauma, chronic issues, serious illness, or unusual disorders requiring advanced training, while also providing critical and emergency veterinary care.
