Application Specialist - Injection Molding

Role Injection Moulding and Component Design Engineer Reporting to Application Technology Manager (Future), Product Technology Manager (Now) Work Location DRDC Qualification & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Polymer Engineering /Materials Science/Mechanical Engineering with 10+ year experience in Injection Moulding/Component Design Thermoplastics component development DOE, Six Sigma, Stage Gate experience Masters/PhD a plus Key Responsibilities (indicative not exhaustive) Define and Execute Application Development projects to support Product development and Customer applications of Polycarbonate and other Engineering Thermoplastic products Collaborate with Internal and External Applications Engineering team to meet customer expectations Execute Product, Asset (Injection Moulding, 3D Printing, Thermoforming, etc) and Capability (Modelling, Moldflow etc.). Develop application Roadmap aligned with customer needs and connect product properties with component/part performance conditions and Customer applications. Understand customer applications and needs for Automotive, Electrical, Electronics, Medical and Emerging markets Competency (Technical) Component Design, Polymer Processing, Injection Moulding, 3D Printing, Thermoforming, etc. Software for Mechanical Design and Polymer Mould-flow Competency (Behavioural) Analytical Thinking, Cross functional Collaboration, Customer focus
