About The Role
Production Castings is looking for a skilled Maintenance Machinist who enjoys solving mechanical challenges and keeping manufacturing equipment running at peak performance. What You'll Do
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair die casting machines, hydraulic systems, pneumatic equipment, and other critical manufacturing machinery.
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to maximize equipment uptime, reliability, and production efficiency.
- Quickly identify root causes of equipment failures and implement effective, long-term repair solutions.
- Fabricate, machine, modify, and rebuild mechanical components to support equipment repairs and improvements.
- Install, test, and commission new equipment while assisting with machine upgrades, automation projects, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime and keep production running safely and efficiently.
- Inspect, maintain, and adjust production equipment to ensure peak operating performance.
- Complete maintenance work orders, inspections, and repair documentation accurately using the company's maintenance system.
- Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout (LOTO), while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Partner with Production, Engineering, Tooling, and fellow Maintenance team members to improve equipment reliability, reduce downtime, and increase overall plant performance.
- Recommend and implement equipment improvements that enhance safety, reliability, productivity, and maintenance efficiency.
- Support troubleshooting of electrical controls, motors, sensors, and PLC-controlled equipment as needed (based on experience and training).
Requirements
What We're Looking For
- Experience maintaining and repairing industrial or manufacturing equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with working knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment issues, identify root causes, and complete safe, effective repairs.
- Experience reading blueprints, mechanical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals is preferred.
- Welding, machining, fabrication, or millwright experience is a plus.
- Basic electrical troubleshooting experience, including motors, sensors, and industrial controls, is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to quality workmanship.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with production and maintenance teams.
- Safety-focused mindset with a commitment to following all company safety policies and procedures.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training, apprenticeship, or industrial maintenance certifications are a plus.
