THE ROLE

The AMD Product Security Office (PSO) is looking for an exceptional Systems Security Architect to work on leading-edge security technologies to enhance AMD's leadership in data center and client computing solutions. You will work with industry level security experts in the design and development of comprehensive system security architectures, to meet the emerging needs of modern computing platforms.

A successful candidate is an experienced systems architect who excels in security architecture design and implementation, with a focus on building secure system-on-chip (SOC) solutions for our data center and client products. You will be involved in all phases of security architecture development including system design, specification writing, threat modeling and vulnerability assessment, with particular emphasis on defining next-generation security technologies and writing technical specifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and drive comprehensive system security architecture for AMD's system-on-chip (SOC) products across the entire technology stack
  • Develop security specifications and requirements based on market analysis, customer input, and industry trends
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration with hardware, software, firmware, and product management teams to implement security architecture
  • Design secure boot, attestation, and confidential computing architectures for data center scale deployments
  • Conduct threat modeling and vulnerability assessments for complex system architectures
  • Drive security architecture decisions across multiple business units and product lines while mentoring engineering teams
  • Engage with industry standards organizations (TCG, OCP, etc.) to influence and adopt security standards

Preferred Experience

Expert knowledge of security technologies including secure boot, attestation architecture, confidential computing, trusted execution environment (TEE) architecture, security protocols, and device I/O protection mechanisms

Deep expertise in embedded firmware, hardware architecture, SOC architecture, and operating systems security (Linux, Windows) at data center scale

Extensive applied cryptography experience with ability to tailor solutions to specific use cases

Proven experience designing large-scale systems with vertical integration from software to hardware touchpoints

Strong background in threat modeling, vulnerability assessment, and security analysis methodologies

Active participation in industry standards organizations (TCG, OCP, NIST, etc.) with demonstrated influence on security standards

Exceptional technical writing skills with proven ability to translate market and customer requirements into technical specifications

Strong cross-functional collaboration skills working across hardware, software, firmware, and business units with excellent communication abilities

Experience with AMD security technologies and data center security architecture

Knowledge of hardware security modules, secure element architectures, and security certification processes (FIPS, Common Criteria)

Background in security research, academic publications, or leading security architecture teams

Familiarity with emerging security standards, secure supply chain, and AI/ML security implications in hardware systems

Academic Credentials

BS/MS in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
