About The Role

Overview

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Caregivers to provide high-quality support and assistance to individuals in various care settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, residential care homes, and home care environments. The ideal candidate will have a genuine desire to improve the quality of life for residents and clients, demonstrating patience, empathy, and professionalism. Experience working with seniors, individuals with disabilities, or those with cognitive impairments such as dementia or Alzheimer's is highly valued. Duties

  • Assist residents and clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
  • Provide medication reminders and assist with medication administration following proper protocols
  • Support residents with cognitive impairments such as dementia or Alzheimer's through engagement and behavioral management techniques
  • Monitor vital signs and report any health concerns to medical professionals or supervisors
  • Operate manual handling equipment such as Hoyer lifts safely to assist with resident transfers
  • Prepare nutritious meals in accordance with dietary needs and preferences
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks including cleaning and sanitation
  • Support residents with mobility using standard passenger cars or transportation services when necessary
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare teams to ensure personalized care plans are followed
  • Follow safety protocols including first aid procedures and safe patient lifting practices in emergency situations

Requirements

Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, residential care homes, or home & community care is preferred

Knowledge of dementia, Alzheimer's, geriatrics, developmental disabilities, or cognitive impairments is highly desirable

Certification in CPR and First Aid is required or must be obtained upon hire

Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling safely; experience with Hoyer lifts is a plus

Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration

Valid driver’s license for standard passenger car operation preferred

Ability to work flexible hours including shifts that may involve long periods of standing or walking

Compassionate attitude with a commitment to providing respectful and dignified care for all residents and clients

Must be capable of working independently as well as part of a team in diverse care environments
