Tax Manager Based in Budapest Purpose of the role To ensure that (i) the Group is tax compliant and (ii) the tax burden of the Group is optimized within the framework of the relevant tax regulations. Responsibilities Manage the Group’s tax compliance procedures in 30+ countries with the assistance of external service providers. Review corporate income tax and value-added tax (VAT) returns. Support local and group financial statement audits from a tax point of view. Coordinate local tax authority audits. Ensure that intercompany transactions are properly documented in line with transfer pricing regulation requirements. Identify tax risks and opportunities and drive related projects to mitigate risks or exploit opportunities. Analyze the tax consequences of the Group’s specific transactions, restructurings, and new products. Work with a network of external tax advisors and compliance service providers in countries where the Group has a legal presence. Experience 4-6+ years overall working experience, with 3+ years' experience of tax compliance experience at a multinational company or advisory firm. Experience with managing a wide range of tax compliance procedures in multiple countries is an advantage. Experience with deferred tax calculations is an advantage. Hard skills Firm understanding of key direct and indirect taxation concepts, with a focus on international taxation. Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, MS Dynamics) is an advantage. Education Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in economics, majoring in finance, accounting, or tax. Tax specialist/accountancy qualification (e.g., ACCA) is an advantage. Language Verbal and written proficiency in English. Skills and competencies Strong interpersonal skills, particularly leadership, thinking/problem-solving, and communication.
