Mechanical/Electrical Technician

POSITION INFO: This position is in the Nacogdoches Maintenance Department. Primarily responsible for providing mechanical/electrical breakdown or troubleshooting services and/or any other duties as assigned by supervisor. RESPONSIBILITIES: • Daily housekeeping activities • Daily safety checks for unsafe acts and conditions • Work closely with production associates and supervision to fill their needs to accomplish highest production efficiency • Make repairs on all equipment within the plant. • Fill in as breakdown technician in any department as needed • Promote lean manufacturing in all processes. • Any other assigned duties as specified by supervisor EXPERIENCE: 3 years’ experience in an industrial maintenance role EDUCATION: High School Deploma or GED preferred Texas State Journeyman’s Electrical License or equivalent is a plus. TRAINING AND SKILLS: - NIBCO electrical certification and demonstrated electrical troubleshooting skills - Demonstrated mechanical aptitude - Fork truck qualified - Customer focus - Must be able to work in adverse conditions such as extreme temperatures, confined spaces, and elevated positions - Must be able to wear a respirator - Teamwork / Collaboration - Ability to use measuring instruments - Read prints and design drawings - Operate power tools - Good work ethic NAC1 PHYSICAL DEMANDS / ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS: - Ability to continuously stand or walk. - Ability to bend, squat, & lift < 35 pounds frequently - Ability to climb stairs occasionally - Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally. - Ability to move rolling product cart > 150 pounds occasionally - Ability to wear required PPE - This is a manufacturing environment with minimal climate control. - Ability to work in a hot environment.
