Job Description

Adjunct STNA program Instructor – part time . Registered Nurse with current

unencumbered Ohio License Knowledge of Ohio Nursing Practice Act/Rules/Regulations or Licensed Practical Nurse. Knowledge of Ohio Nurse Nursing Aide scope of practice pertaining to the ODH standards for NATCEP( Nurse aid Training and competency evaluation Program) standards and guidelines. Knowledge caring for the chronically ill and elderly. Knowledge of safety standards and hazards in the health care setting. Computer skills including Word and Power Point. Strong verbal and written skills. Operation of electric hospital beds, mechanical lifts, and safety equipment used in caring for patients. Lecture to groups of students up to 30. Ability to plan and organize lecture and lab material. Ability to supervise and instruct students in skill lab and clinical. Work in a fast paced, multitasking, environment. Leadership and mentoring qualities. Documentation skills and verbal skills. Strong work ethic, dependability, flexibility, self - organization, team oriented, work independently, multitask multiple students in classes, lab, and clinical settings. Strong communication skills/verbal/written.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse with current unencumbered Ohio License Knowledge of Ohio Nursing Practice Act/Rules/Regulations.
• Knowledge of Ohio Nurse Nursing Aide scope of practice pertaining to the ODH standards for NATCEP standards and guidelines.
• Knowledge caring for the chronically ill and elderly.
• Knowledge of safety standards and hazards in the health care setting.
• Current Ohio RN or LPN license.
• 2 years of nursing with 12 months caring for the chronically ill or elderly.
• Must have a current Train the Trainer certification for the state of Ohio/NATCEP or be willing to complete the TTT certification course if required.
• Computer skills including Word and Power Point.
• Strong verbal and written skills.

Other Characteristics

• Current unencumbered Ohio RN license

• American Heart Association current CPR /HCP
• 12 months caring for the chronically ill or elderly.
• Must have a current train the Trainer certification for the state of Ohio/NATCEP
• Prior experience as a Program Instructor for NATCEP preferred within last 2 years.

Minimum Education/Experience

• A current unencumbered license LPN or RN
• If RN, Associate degree or two-year technical certification
• If RN, must be willing to take the TTT
• If teaching clinic, a BLS certification
• 2 years as an LPN or RN with the chronically ill/elderly or with 1 year provision of long-term care
