Please generate a Job Description for Data center expert of Building & Infrastructure in Bureau Veritas Vietnam Job Description: Data Center Expert – Building & Infrastructure Company: Bureau Veritas Vietnam Position: Data Center Expert – Building & Infrastructure Location: Ho Chi Minh/Hanoi Reports To: Building & Infrastructure Service Line Manager or Technical Director Position Overview Bureau Veritas Vietnam seeks an experienced Data Center Expert to provide specialized technical expertise, inspection, and certification services for data center facilities and infrastructure projects. This role combines deep technical knowledge of data center design, construction, and operations with Bureau Veritas's quality assurance and compliance frameworks. The expert will conduct inspections, audits, technical assessments, and certifications to ensure data centers meet international standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices. Key Responsibilities Technical Expertise & Assessment Conduct comprehensive inspections and audits of data center facilities (design, construction, operations) Assess compliance with international standards (ISO 27001, ISO 14644, Tier III/IV standards, ANSI/TIA-942, etc.) Evaluate critical infrastructure systems: power distribution, cooling, fire suppression, security, network architecture Review architectural and engineering designs for compliance and best practices Identify gaps, risks, and non-conformances; recommend corrective actions Prepare detailed technical reports with findings, recommendations, and certification status Certification & Compliance Lead certification processes for data center facilities (Tier classification, ISO compliance, energy efficiency) Verify adherence to Vietnamese building codes, electrical standards, and safety regulations Support clients in achieving international certifications and accreditations Maintain knowledge of evolving regulatory requirements and industry standards Provide pre-audit and pre-certification consulting to streamline approval processes Client Consultation & Support Serve as technical advisor to clients on data center design, construction, and operational excellence Conduct pre-project consultations to align expectations with standards and requirements Present findings and recommendations to client leadership and technical teams Provide expert testimony and technical documentation for regulatory submissions Support proposal development and scope definition for data center projects Project Management & Coordination Plan and schedule inspection/audit activities with minimal operational disruption Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (architects, engineers, contractors, facility managers) Manage documentation, evidence collection, and compliance records Track project timelines, budgets, and deliverables Liaise with internal Bureau Veritas teams (certification, quality assurance, operations) Quality & Continuous Improvement Maintain technical competency through ongoing training and industry engagement Contribute to development of Bureau Veritas data center service offerings and methodologies Participate in industry forums, working groups, and standards development activities Share best practices and lessons learned across the team Support quality assurance reviews and audit activities Business Development Support Collaborate with Business Development team to identify and pursue data center opportunities Provide technical input for proposals, tenders, and RFQs Support client relationship building through technical credibility and expertise Participate in industry events, seminars, and networking activities Mentor junior technical staff and inspectors Required Qualifications Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline 8+ years of professional experience in data center design, construction, operations, or facility management 3+ years of direct experience in data center inspection, audit, or compliance assessment Proven expertise in data center infrastructure and standards (Tier classification, ISO 27001, ISO 14644, ANSI/TIA-942) Track record of conducting technical assessments and preparing compliance documentation Technical Knowledge & Competencies Data Center Infrastructure : Comprehensive understanding of power systems (UPS, generators, PDUs), cooling systems (CRAC/CRAH, hot/cold aisle containment), fire suppression, security systems Design & Construction : Knowledge of data center design principles, construction best practices, and commissioning processes Standards & Compliance : Proficiency with ISO 27001, ISO 14644, Tier III/IV classification standards, ANSI/TIA-942, Vietnamese building codes, electrical safety standards Energy Efficiency : Understanding of PUE (Power Usage Effectiveness), cooling optimization, and energy management Network & IT Infrastructure : Basic knowledge of network architecture, server systems, and IT operations Regulatory Knowledge : Familiarity with Vietnamese and international data center regulations, building permits, and compliance requirements Professional Skills Technical Analysis : Ability to evaluate complex systems, identify non-conformances, and recommend solutions Documentation : Excellent report writing, technical drawing interpretation, and compliance documentation Communication : Clear presentation of technical findings to both technical and non-technical audiences; fluent in English and Vietnamese Problem-Solving : Analytical thinking, critical evaluation, and practical solutions Attention to Detail : Precision in inspection protocols, measurements, and compliance verification Project Management : Ability to manage multiple assessments, coordinate schedules, and meet deadlines Stakeholder Management : Professional interaction with clients, contractors, regulators, and internal teams
