About The Role
Purpose of Position- - The Third-Party QA/QC Engineer serves as an independent quality assurance authority for all precast structural building elements — including columns, beams, slabs, wall panels, and staircases. The incumbent ensures that manufacturing, handling, and erection activities strictly conform to approved drawings, specifications, international standards, and contractual requirements. - The position performs in line with the Bureau Veritas Quality Assurance System, including the BV Code of Ethics and the BV Group policy Major Responsibilities – - Review and approve mix design, material submittals, and batch plant calibration records prior to commencement of casting. - Witness and document all casting operations including formwork inspection, rebar placement, cover verification, and concrete pour. - Independently conduct in-process and final dimensional checks on all precast elements against approved shop drawings and tolerances. - Monitor concrete curing regime (steam/moist curing) and verify compliance with temperature–time logs. - Witness sampling and testing of concrete cubes/cylinders; review and accept test certificates from accredited laboratories. - Inspect Pre pour mould/Reinforcement, during pour and post pour surface finish quality, reject non-conforming elements, and raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) with corrective action follow-up. - Audit lifting, stacking, storage, and transportation procedures to prevent damage to precast elements. - Review erection method statements; perform joint, connection, and grouting inspections on-site. - Verify post-tensioning/pre-tensioning operations, strand placement, and stressing records where applicable. - Compile and submit weekly/monthly inspection reports, ITP signoffs, and final quality dossiers to the client. Roles & Responsibilities for HSE – - Must comply the BV Cardinal Safety Rules in all situations. - To comply company HSE requirements e.g. policies, Procedures, guidelines etc. and local legal requirements on HSE as applicable - To take care of own health and safety as well as colleagues and others. - Immediate reporting of any shortcomings on HSE i.e. any incident, unsafe work practices / conditions to his/her immediate Line Managers. - Sharing opportunities for improvement on HSE aspects - Responsible for compliances of all applicable statutory laws and regulations as well as Group HSSE policies and procedures etc. in relation to Health, security, safety and environment and workmen employment. - Responsible for establishing, implementing, monitoring and reviewing the HSSE Management System (in line with ISO14001:2015 & ISO 45001 standards) within his/ her Region/Location/Team - Responsible to take reasonable care on health and safety of their own, colleagues and others working surroundings. - Responsible to report promptly to immediate superior on any abnormalities and incidents found related to Health, Security, Safety and Environment Qualification & Experience - Bachelor's Degree in Civil / Structural Engineering (B.E. / <B.Tech> or equivalent). - Minimum 6 years' relevant experience, with at least 5 years in QA/QC of precast concrete structural elements. - Demonstrable experience on large-scale precast building projects (residential, commercial, or industrial). - Proficiency in reading and interpreting structural and precast shop drawings, bar bending schedules, and specifications. - Certification: CSWIP / AWS / ACI Field Testing Technician / ISO 9001 Lead Auditor preferred. - Familiarity with international standards: IS 1343, IS 456, ACI 318, EN 13369, BS 8110, PCI, ASTM standards.
