Job Description/Responsibilities The Opportunity We're looking for a hands-on horticultural leader to keep our grounds and arboretum in show condition every day of the year. As Homeplace Horticultural Supervisor, you'll lead a versatile grounds team, own seasonal planning and the daily work order system, and play a direct role in our pursuit of botanical garden accreditation. If you take pride in a landscape that thousands of guests photograph every week — and in developing the team that makes it happen — this is your role. Your Day-to-Day Lead, train, and inspect the work of the grounds team, holding horticultural practices to the highest standard Safeguard the health of the Buffalo Trace plant collection and keep the plant records database and labeling current Plan and execute seasonal color and landscape enhancements Support garden and arboretum tours, public educational programs, and accreditation requirements Partner with the Homeplace Planner/Coordinator and management on scheduling, SOP development, and contractor management Pitch in on the Homeplace team's full range of work — event and holiday setup, building maintenance, and more Keep safety front and center in every project Qualifications/Requirements What You Bring Associate degree or higher in horticulture from an accredited institution 5+ years supervising or managing in the horticultural field Deep plant knowledge across species, ornamental horticulture, and plant culture Strong training, communication, and public-speaking skills Experience with plant collections database software Sharp attention to detail and a drive for results Working Conditions Lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted; work outdoors in all weather 8-hour shifts on-site, with overtime as needed #LI-JC1
