About The Role
Role Summary
The Accounts Payable Intern will support APCO's North America finance function from APCO's office in Amman, Jordan. The intern will assist with day-to-day accounts payable activities, invoice processing, payment documentation, vendor support, and finance administration while gaining hands-on exposure to accounting operations within a global organization. This role will report to the Accounts Payable Lead in Amman and will work closely with finance colleagues supporting APCO's North America offices. The candidate must be based in Amman, Jordan and available to work on-site from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM Jordan local time.
Job Responsibilities
- Support the review, coding, and processing of supplier invoices in a timely and accurate manner.
- Assist with maintaining accounts payable records, invoice files, payment confirmations, and supporting documentation.
- Help verify invoices, expense-related documentation, and vendor information in line with internal procedures.
- Support vendor account reconciliations and follow up on outstanding items as required.
- Assist with monitoring accounts payable mailboxes and responding to routine inquiries under the guidance of the Accounts Payable Lead.
- Support the preparation of payment documentation and related finance trackers.
- Assist with data entry and updates within APCO’s accounting and finance systems.
- Help identify discrepancies and escalate issues to the Accounts Payable Lead when needed.
- Support month-end closing activities, reporting requirements, and accounts payable follow-ups.
- Participate in finance process improvement initiatives and ad hoc assignments as requested.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Previous internship experience in finance or accounting is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Proactive, reliable, and eager to learn.
- Ability to work collaboratively with local and international teams.
