Peer Recovery Coach Position Summary The Peer Recovery Coach (PRC) provides supportive services to patients with substance use disorders by using lived recovery experience to encourage engagement, recovery planning, relapse prevention, and connection to treatment and community resources. The PRC works collaboratively with the interdisciplinary care team to provide brief interventions, coordinate referrals, and support patients throughout hospitalization and after discharge. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required Lived experience in recovery from substance use disorder Knowledge of the recovery process and recovery planning Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to use SBIRT and motivational interviewing techniques Ability to build trusting, supportive relationships with patients and families Skills in care coordination, community resource linkage, and follow-up outreach Ability to document services and work collaboratively with the care team Key Responsibilities Support patients with substance use disorders throughout the care continuum Serve as a role model, mentor, advocate, and motivator Conduct brief interventions using the SBIRT model Assist with recovery planning and treatment referrals Provide follow-up support after discharge Help connect patients to community support services, treatment, transportation, and appointments Collaborate with nursing, social work, ED staff, and other members of the care team Complete required documentation and reports Participate in team huddles, meetings, and trainings Certification: This position requires Peer Recovery Certification Salary Range: Minimum /hour - Maximum /hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
