Charlotte Animal Referral & Emergency is

seeking talented veterinary technicians to join our Oncology team!

Oncology technicians are responsible for providing exceptional nursing care and empathetic client service to ensure our oncology clients and patients feel supported through their oncologic journey. Oncology technicians work 7 am - 5:30 pm, 4-week days a week (3-day weekend!), and are on-call 1 weekend a month. If you enjoy developing relationships with your patients and clients the oncology department is the place for you! Prior experience in oncology is not necessary but experience as a veterinary technician is required.

Requirements

  • High school degree or equivalent
  • 2+ years of experience as a veterinary technician
  • RVT preferred but not required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • The ability to lift up to 40lbs unassisted
  • The ability to kneel, squat, and bend
  • Emotionally intelligent
  • Proficient with technology including electronic medical record systems, automated lab analyzers

Responsibilities

  • Venipuncture: jugular, cephalic, saphenous
  • IV Catheter placement
  • Lab work

Radiology

  • Anesthesia induction and monitoring
  • Endotracheal intubation
  • Medical calculations
