Educational Qualifications
Degree
: Master’s or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
Licensure
: Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure as an Occupational Therapist in the state of practice.
Certification
: Certification through the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
Skills and Experience
Pediatric Experience
: Prior experience working with children in a clinical or educational setting is preferred.
Therapeutic Skills
: Proficient in designing and implementing individualized treatment plans for children with physical, developmental, emotional, or sensory challenges.
Communication Skills
: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with parents, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals.
Problem-Solving
: Strong ability to assess needs, identify goals, and adapt treatment plans as needed.
Creativity
: Ability to create engaging, play-based therapeutic activities tailored to each child's interests and developmental level.
Additional Qualifications (Preferred)
- Training or certifications in specialized therapeutic approaches (e.g., Sensory Integration Therapy, Reflex Integration, or Feeding Therapy).
- Knowledge of assistive technology and adaptive equipment.
- CPR and First Aid certification.
