About The Role

Role: Supplier Manager Sus - Fabrication Location: Ather Energy Ltd, Auric, CSN. Reporting Structure: You will aligned to Commodity Lead Fabrication,Supply chain Team Name: Fabrication (under Mechanical BTP-Supply Chain) About the Team and the Role: The team at Ather is responsible for building a robust and competitive supply chain for our innovative electric vehicles, ensuring part quality, cost efficiency, and timely delivery. This role is for a specialized Manager for sourcing and managing the supply chain for critical Fabrication components who will oversee the long-term supply continuity, performance, and cost management of the established supplier base for the Hosur/Aurc production line, particularly after the SOP+3 stabilization period. Responsibilities: Stabilize supply (SOP+3) and ensure long-term continuity for the Hosur line. Maintain the rolling 12-month Hosur spend forecast, reviewing monthly. Execute VAVE and MCP, launching at least two cost-saving projects quarterly. Negotiate volume discounts and extended payment terms based on spend analysis. Audit contract compliance and initiate renegotiation/renewal 120 days pre-expiration. Ensure accurate RM indexing and reconcile PPV quarterly with Finance. Manage documentation and technical handover from Development Sourcing, archiving risks. Lead Quarterly Periodic Business Reviews (PBRs) with top suppliers, tracking OTD, Quality PPM, and cost. Drive formal Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs) for non-compliant suppliers. Coordinate with Manufacturing/Quality to resolve line-down/quality incidents. Present a monthly Supply Risk Dashboard to senior management (constraints, geopolitics). Facilitate commercial discrepancy resolution by reconciling supplier invoices with Finance. Partner with Engineering to qualify second sources and mitigate single-source risk. Assist Audit/Compliance with EHSS and statutory check documentation. Set and cascade annual targets for cost reduction, inventory turns, and supplier risk. Provide coaching and technical mentorship on advanced negotiation tactics. Lead weekly team meetings focused on high-risk suppliers, bottlenecks, and VAVE/MCP status. Manage team professional development, securing competency training. Conduct annual performance reviews, linking contributions to cost savings and stability. Oversee supplier base segmentation and ensure timely annual review/approval with Category Lead and CPO. Experience and Qualifications: Required qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Production preferred). Experience: 6+ years of experience in Sourcing or Supply Chain Management, preferably within the automotive or manufacturing sector focusing on Fabrication commodities. Must have Competencies: Supplier Relationship Management Cost Management Supplier Fulfilment (Demand Supply management) Negotiation and Closure RFQ management - Engagement with Supplier SAP Good to have Competencies: Commodity exposure (Tech & Commercial) Supplier base for the Commodity Quality Management Systems, AIAG manual, APQP, PPAP, etc. Want to know more?
