Position Number: 22092035 Location: Pinnacle Mountain State Park -PT42 County: Pulaski Anticipated Starting Salary: $43,088.03 The Facility Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and general upkeep of the visitor's center. This position helps to ensure that the Visitor's Center is safe, clean, functional, welcoming, and prepared to serve the park visitors, employees, and volunteers. Facility Coordinator works directly with the Facility Supervisor/Expert. Maintain standards of the gift shop by properly ordering and receiving product, counting inventory, and cleaning. Daily cleaning is necessary and includes but not limited to wiping down counter tops and displays, scrubbing toilets, cleaning windows and doors, and taking out trash. Responsible for opening and closing register and making sure building is securely locked. Coordinate facility reservations and space utilization for meetings, events, and department needs, including reservations at Lake Sylvia. Ability to use POS system on computer and handle money. The Arkansas Department of Parks, Heritage and Tourism has three major divisions: Arkansas State Parks, Arkansas Heritage and Arkansas Tourism. Arkansas State Parks manages 52 state parks and promotes Arkansas as a tourist destination for people around the country. Arkansas Heritage preserves and promotes Arkansas’s natural and cultural history and heritage through four historic museums and four cultural preservation agencies. Arkansas Tourism improves the state’s economy by generating travel and enhancing the image of the state. Position Information Job Series: Facility Management – Career Path Classification: Facility Coordinator Class Code: TFM01P Pay Grade: SGS04 Salary Range: $43,088 - $63,770 Job Summary The Facility Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the daily operations, maintenance, and logistics of state-owned facilities to ensure they remain safe, functional, and compliant with state and federal regulations. This position plays a key role in scheduling maintenance, managing facility use, coordinating with contractors, and supporting operational efficiency. Primary Responsibilities Monitor daily facility operations, ensuring that buildings, equipment, and grounds are maintained in good working condition. Assist in scheduling and coordinating preventative maintenance, repairs, and facility inspections. Ensure that safety and compliance standards are met, including OSHA, ADA, and environmental regulations. Track and report facility issues, ensuring timely resolution through maintenance teams or contractors. Supervises staff by interviewing, recommending staff for hire/fire, assigning and reviewing work, counseling, and evaluating the performance of incumbents. Assist with inventory management of maintenance supplies and equipment. Coordinate facility reservations and space utilization for meetings, events, and department needs. Manage facility access, security, and visitor procedures in coordination with relevant departments. Assist in developing and enforcing facility policies and guidelines for state employees and visitors. Support emergency preparedness by maintaining evacuation plans and emergency contact lists. Assist in managing vendor relationships, ensuring timely and cost-effective service. Help coordinate contracts for cleaning, landscaping, security, and maintenance services. Verify contractor compliance with state procurement policies and service agreements. Maintain facility records, including maintenance logs, inspection reports, and service agreements. Assist in budget tracking and expense reporting for facility-related expenditures. Provide input on cost-saving initiatives and resource allocation to improve efficiency. Support procurement of supplies and equipment as needed. Knowledge and Skills Knowledge of facility operations, maintenance procedures, and safety regulations. Familiarity with building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and security systems. Ability to use facility management software and work order tracking systems. Understanding of state procurement and contract management processes. Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and deadlines. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for coordinating with staff, vendors, and contractors. Knowledge of inventory control, purchasing and procurement procedures, and customer service. Ability to greet customers and provide information concerning services and functions of the facility. Ability to plan, organize, and oversee the work of subordinates and coordinate work activities. Minimum Qualifications Minimum of one year of facility management experience. Satisfaction of the minimum qualifications, including years of experience and service, does not entitle employees to automatic progression within the job series. Promotion to the next classification level is at the discretion of the department and the Office of Personnel Management, taking into consideration the employee’s demonstrated skills, competencies, performance, workload responsibilities, and organizational needs.
