We are seeking independent and creative Research Investigators to join Dr. Gu’s group. Dr. Wei Gu joined BeOne in November 2022 as Research Chief of the BeOne Institute. His research program is dedicated to advancing both fundamental and translational understanding of the phenotypic, metabolic, and functional dynamics of immune cells during disease progression and in response to therapeutic interventions. A major focus of Dr. Gu’s laboratory is the application of multidisciplinary approaches, integrating immunology, systems biology, and bioinformatics, to uncover disease-associated biological changes and identify novel therapeutic opportunities in cancer and inflammatory disorders. The laboratory has established innovative strategies leveraging advanced bioinformatics technologies to generate actionable insights into human disease biology and therapeutic responses. We are seeking a highly motivated Research Investigator to join our team and contribute to cutting-edge research in the following areas: Gastric and Intestinal Diseases: Cancer and Inflammatory Bowel Disease · Elucidate disease mechanisms underlying gastrointestinal cancers and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). · Identify and validate novel therapeutic targets through integrative translational research approaches. · Apply multi-omics and bioinformatics methodologies to uncover disease-driving insights. Stem Cell Biology and Cell Therapy · Investigate the biological mechanisms and therapeutic potential of stem cells. · Develop innovative strategies to translate stem cell research into next-generation cell therapies. Job responsibilities The successful candidates will · Initiate and conduct independent research · Collaborate with other group members to drive innovation and productivity · Mentor and support junior staff members Requirements: · Successful applicants should hold a Ph.D. obtained in 2026 or earlier. · The applicants should have a solid background and significant experience in one or more of the following areas: Immunology, stem cell biology, cancer biology, multi-omics integration, and metabolic biology · A solid record of scientific accomplishment · Ability to independently design and execute experiments, interpret data, and identify appropriate follow-up strategies · Ability to collaborate in a dynamic environment · Ability to write and publish manuscripts · Specialized skills: (key skills are highlighted) Molecular Biology: Molecular Cloning and Vector Design(Adenovirus, Lentivirus), siRNA and shRNA knockdown, CRISPR (clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats)-Cas9 Knock-out and Knock-in, Domain deletion, Ectopic expression, qPCR, PAGE, Western Blotting, ELISA, Immunohistochemistry, Immunofluorescence, IP(Immunoprecipitation). Cell Biology: Cell line culture, Primary cell culture, 3D organoid culture (intestinal stem cell), 3D carcinoma and IBD organoid culture, Cell sorting, Cell functions (isotope labeling, MTT, Edu, TUNEL, Seahorse cell respiration), Aerobic and anaerobic bacterial culture.
