About The Role

Position Overview

The Electrical Tester is responsible for performing electrical testing, verification, and basic pre‑commissioning activities on data center and industrial electrical equipment. This role ensures equipment is tested according to established procedures, complies with engineering requirements, and is ready for subsequent commissioning phases.

The Electrical Tester works closely with senior testers, supervisors, engineering teams, and quality departments to support factory acceptance testing (FAT), equipment verification, and preparation for customer‑witnessed testing. This position requires strong technical competency, attention to detail, and adherence to safety protocols.

Reports to Electrical Tester Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities

Electrical Testing & Equipment Verification

  • Perform testing and functional checks on electrical equipment such as:
  • Switchgear and LV panels
  • Busways
  • Power distribution units
  • Follow approved test procedures, engineering drawings, and test plans.

Support for FAT Activities

  • Prepare equipment and testing stations
  • Provide accurate test readings and help execute steps during customer‑observed testing.
  • Communicate findings promptly to lead testers or supervisors.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Record test results accurately following QA/QC and project documentation standards.
  • Update testing forms, measurement sheets, and deviation logs.
  • Submit completed test documentation for review by senior testers or supervisors.

Tools, Equipment & Safety

  • Properly operate and maintain electrical testing instruments.
  • Ensure test equipment is used correctly and handled according to calibration requirements.
  • Always Adhere to strict LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) and electrical safety procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment within testing areas.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

  • Work closely with senior testers, engineers, and quality teams to support daily testing schedules.
  • Participate in basic troubleshooting activities under guidance from senior personnel.
  • Support implementation of standardized testing procedures across the team.

Qualifications & Experience

Required

  • Diploma or secondary education in Electrical Engineering, Electrotechnics, or a related field.
  • Fundamental knowledge of electrical equipment and testing methods.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical diagrams such as SLDs and wiring schematics.
  • Practical experience with electrical tools, instruments, and measurement equipment.
