Hudson Group is an international retailer and distributor primarily involved in the sport and fashion wear sectors. The Group’s head office is in Malta but is also present through offices in Italy, Greece, Cyprus, Morocco, Nigeria, Kenya and Algeria.

Though Hudson Holdings was founded in 2006, the Group’s roots reach as far back as 1987 when the first pair of NIKE was sold in Malta.

Role purpose

We are looking for a proactive and technically skilled IT Senior Workplace & Infrastructure Engineer to join our IT team. This role is responsible for delivering a secure, reliable, and modern workplace experience while maintaining the underlying infrastructure that supports our business operations.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting users, managing enterprise technologies, improving system reliability, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across our offices, warehouses, and retail locations. You will work across workplace technologies, networking, cloud services, cybersecurity, and IT infrastructure to ensure that employees can work efficiently and securely wherever they are.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys combining hands-on technical work with project delivery, problem solving, and innovation.

The key duties and responsibilities of the role are as follows

Workplace Technology

  • Manage and support end-user devices including laptops, desktops, mobile devices, POS equipment, printers, and peripherals.
  • Administer and maintain Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Intune, and Entra ID.
  • Deliver high-quality Level 2 technical support for workplace-related incidents and service requests.
  • Support meeting rooms, conferencing systems, and collaboration technologies.
  • Implement and maintain endpoint security, patching, and compliance standards.
  • Manage hardware lifecycle, software deployment, and asset inventory.

Infrastructure & Operations

  • Support and maintain enterprise server infrastructure, both on-premises and cloud-based.
  • Administer Windows Server environments, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and related services.
  • Manage virtualisation platforms and infrastructure monitoring solutions.
  • Support backups, disaster recovery, and business continuity processes.
  • Monitor system health, performance, and capacity to ensure high availability.
  • Investigate and resolve infrastructure incidents and recurring technical issues.

Network & Connectivity

  • Support LAN, WAN, wireless, VPN, and internet connectivity across multiple sites.
  • Troubleshoot network-related performance and availability issues.
  • Assist with network upgrades, firewall management, and infrastructure projects.
  • Support retail store technology and connectivity requirements.

Security & Compliance

  • Maintain security standards across workplace and infrastructure environments.
  • Assist in vulnerability management, system hardening, and security remediation activities.
  • Support incident response and cybersecurity initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with IT policies, standards, and best practices.

Projects & Continuous Improvement

  • Lead and support the planning, design, implementation, commissioning, and handover of new retail store, warehouse, office, and refurbishment projects, ensuring all IT infrastructure, networking, workplace technology, POS systems, and security solutions are delivered on time and meet operational requirements.
  • Coordinate with business stakeholders, contractors, vendors, and project teams to ensure successful deployment of technology solutions during store openings, relocations, expansions, and warehouse implementations.
  • Conduct site surveys, assess infrastructure requirements, and develop technical deployment plans for new locations.
  • Provide post-go-live support and operational transition to ensure a smooth handover to business users and support teams.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation and operational procedures.

Core competencies, knowledge, and experience.

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in an IT Infrastructure, Systems, Network or Workplace Engineering Role
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration.
  • Excellent communication in English.
  • Experience with Microsoft Entra ID and Intune
  • You are able to manage third party suppliers.
  • You are willing to travel.
  • Have a valid driving license

Certifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate (Exam MD-102) or equivalent.
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (Exam AZ-104) or equivalent.
  • CCNA or an equivalent certification
  • ITIL Foundation will be considered as an asset.
