About The Role
Duties
- (a) To plan and support the development of Music curriculum in primary and secondary schools;
- (b) To plan, organise and conduct professional development programmes and activities in support of the implementation of the Music curriculum and other curriculum initiatives;
- (c) To support the organisation of teachers' networks on the promotion of Music education through a professional learning community;
- (d) To plan, coordinate and develop resource materials to support the learning and teaching of Music;
- (e) To conduct and monitor research and development projects;
- (f) To assist in the promotion of Music education to various stakeholders;
- (g) To provide professional services and participate in committees and task groups within and/or outside the Education Bureau;
- (h) To assist with professional and general administrative duties of the Arts Education Section; and
- (i) To undertake any other duties as assigned.
Entry Requirements
(a) A Hong Kong bachelor's degree in Music, or equivalent [See Note (ii)];
(b) A certificate in education from a Hong Kong tertiary educational institution, or equivalent [See Note (ii)];
(c) Met the language proficiency requirements of 'Level 2' results in the two language papers [Use of Chinese (UC) and Use of English (UE)] in the Common Recruitment Examination (CRE), or equivalent [See Notes (iii)];
(d) A pass result in the Basic Law and National Security Law Test [See Note (v)];
(e) At least 6 years' relevant post-qualification [as specified in (a) and (b)] experience in teaching and developing curriculum of music in primary and/or secondary school(s) [See Note (iv)]; experience in the planning and implementation of music technology and/or the incorporation of digital technology in music and/or music-and-other subjects' inter-disciplinary learning preferred;
(f) Possess sound knowledge and educational experience in the area of music education and local education system; and
(g) A higher degree (e.g. a second/higher degree) related to education, or equivalent preferred [See Note (ii)].
Pay
$83,975 per month
Terms of Appointment
Successful candidates will be employed on non-civil service contract terms for 2.5 years.
