About The Role
Duties
(a) To assist in formulating effective public relations strategies in public engagement, social media reach, and presentation of new policies and actions;
(b) To monitor news relating to the work of the Environment and Ecology Bureau (EEB) on social media and to analyze the public sentiments and relevant trend on social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and YouTube, etc.;
(c) To manage social media platforms for the EEB by, including but not limited to suggesting contents to be used, taking into consideration the public sentiments, designing graphical contents, producing video contents and taking photos for posts to be issued on the social media platforms;
(d) To assist in evaluating the effectiveness of digital campaigns with a view to reaching more people and to maintaining a good relationship with local community groups;
(e) To develop production concepts, compile video scripts and produce videos on given topics, and be responsible for live streaming of events and interviews with government officials via various social media platforms;
(f) To assist in publicity activities related to the social media platforms of the EEB; and
(g) To perform any other duties as assigned by senior officers.
Entry Requirements
Applicants should :-
(a) have a bachelor’s degree in design, media or journalism, from a Hong Kong university, or equivalent;
(b) have at least 5 years of full-time post-qualification work experience in design or media or journalism, including at least 3 years of full-time work experience in social media promotion (including managing social media platforms and copywriting). Preference will be given to applicants with work experience in government departments or public organisations;
(c) meet the language proficiency requirement of Level 2 or above in English Language and Chinese Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent;
(d) be well-versed with IT skills, social media and multi-media tools (including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, graphic design and video editing software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Lightroom, InDesign, Premiere, After Effects, and Final Cut Pro, etc.);
(e) have excellent knowledge of social media management, and experience in operating social media accounts/pages for business use (such as YouTube, Facebook, Instagram and their advertising platforms); preferably be familiar with Chinese social media platforms, including WeChat, Weibo and Xiaohongshu;
(f) have good knowledge of creating images and infographics, shooting and editing video and writing captions and posts on social media platforms;
(g) be outgoing, proactive, and attentive to details;
(h) be able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines; and
(i) preferably have keen interest in environmental sustainability and good knowledge of environmental/food and environmental hygiene policy.
(Note:“Grade E” in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in the HKCEE before 2007 are accepted administratively as comparable to “Level 2” in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth.)
Pay
$52,575
Terms of Appointment
Successful candidate will be employed on non-civil service contract terms for a period of 24 months. Renewal of contract will be subject to the service need and the performance of the candidate.
