About The Role
Duties
(a) To formulate and render school-based professional support service to secondary schools in respect of school-based curriculum development in Science Education (SE), Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) education and digital education.
(b) To assist in organising professional network activities for SE, STEAM education and digital education, which aim to engender cross-schools collegial sharing and professional exchanges;
(c) To assist in organising territory-wide sharing sessions for disseminating effective practices; and
(d) To conceptualise effective practices on support service of SE, STEAM education and digital education for knowledge generation, such as tasks of writing reports, analysis on year-end evaluation report, cases of school-based curriculum development and reflections on support services.
Entry Requirements
(a) A Hong Kong bachelor's degree in subjects relevant to Science or Science Education, or equivalent [see Notes 1 and 3];
(b) A certificate in education from a Hong Kong tertiary educational institution, or equivalent;
(c) Met the language proficiency requirements of Level 2 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent [see Note 2];
(d) At least 6 years' relevant post-qualification experience in teaching and with relevant curriculum development experience at secondary schools preferred [see Note 4];
(e) Good knowledge of the local education system and the curriculum reform; and
(f) Candidates may be required to take a written test on the day of selection interview.
Pay
$480 per hour (Required to work for around 16 hours per week)
Terms of Appointment
Successful candidates will be employed on non-civil service contract terms for 1 year.
