Role Definition

To ensure uninterrupted operation of Assembly Shop equipment through preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance activities while improving machine reliability and ensuring safety compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of Assembly Shop equipment.
  • Troubleshoot PLC-controlled machines, conveyors, automated systems, motors, VFDs, sensors, relays, and control circuits.
  • Maintain electrical panels and power distribution systems.
  • Analyze recurring failures and implement corrective actions.
  • Participate in TPM, Kaizen, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Follow EHS standards, LOTO procedures, and statutory electrical regulations.
  • Maintain maintenance records, PM checklists, and breakdown reports.
  • Coordinate with production, quality, and utility teams to achieve uptime targets.

Required Technical Skills

  • PLC troubleshooting (Siemens/Mitsubishi/Allen Bradley)
  • Knowledge of VFDs, servo drives, sensors and automation systems
  • Ability to read electrical drawings and schematics
  • Experience with SAP/CMMS maintenance systems
  • Knowledge of RCA, FMEA and TPM methodologies

This position must ensure his own safety as well the safety of all his team members through practicing and reinforcing safety culture consistently all through the day. Should own and deliver the defined PQVC metrics for the area that he has been assigned. This position is also expected to review the quality checks and ensure adhering to it to meet Zero defect per unit /component as might be applicable in the work that he/ she and his / her team members are involved.

JOB DUTIES

Lead and support a team of people to execute operations activity

Train new team members with hands on experience

Plan and ensure all resource available to meet daily operations activity

Fill-in as stand-by for other team leads or team members as required

Identify and ensure actions for meeting the PQVC metrics for the area allocated to lead and report them section manager on daily basis

Respond to line stoppers and dispatches support resources as needed

Responsible for conducting Process Improvement dialogs at the cell level and ensuring participation in Process improvement dialogs at Section level and trigger actions based on meeting outcome

Responsible for generating and working on Continuous Improvement ideas for all ideas related to their assigned area

To conduct and participate in RIWs for their assigned area of responsibility

Monitors and audits PQVC metrics at the cell level in their area, e.g., audits performance compared to Standard Work, significant control points, and area indicators

Assists with creating, training, and implementing standard work processes and documentation

Collects data and updates cell level metric boards as needed

Employee is also responsible for performing other job duties as assigned by Caterpillar management from time to time.

BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE

  • Diploma graduates in any specialization
  • Minimum of 5 years of related work experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of team leader experience
  • Drawing reading skills and Knowledge on MS Office is preferred
  • This position requires working onsite five days a week.
  • Relocation is available for this position.
